Photographing the Dolomites | Photography & Walking Guide

Sale Price: £14.95 Original Price: £17.95

A practical photography and walking guide for people who want to actually explore the Dolomites. Not a collection of photo-location pins.

This 59-page guide is based on two weeks I spent walking and photographing the Dolomites, staying on both sides of the mountains and visiting places including Seceda, Piz Boè, Lago di Fedaia, Ciampac, Tre Cime, Cadini di Misurina, Cinque Torri and Lago di Sorapis.

Rather than trying to cover hundreds of viewpoints, I’ve focused on the walks and locations I would genuinely recommend; how to get there, where to park, which lifts to use, how long to allow, what the walking is really like, and the photographs I’d look for along the way.

Most of the photographs in the guide were made during normal walking days and lift opening hours, so it’s designed for photographers who want great images without turning the whole holiday into a sunrise-and-sunset shooting schedule.

Inside you’ll find:

  • route maps and practical planning notes

  • realistic timings from our trip

  • parking, lift and access information

  • photography ideas for each location

  • advice on light, composition, kit and shooting film in the mountains

  • suggested ways to divide a one- or two-week trip
